It really depends on what type of hair that you have. The best conditioner for thick curly hair would not work for someone with thin straight hair. Also the way you want your hair to look also has to be addressed. Do you want your hair to be smooth and lay flat on your head or do you need volume? What other types of products do you use on your hair? Super stiff hairspay for spiking hair and sculpting wax cause hair to act differently. Are you looking for a conditioner to use right after shampooing or maybe something for a once a week treatment for deep conditioning?

Here is list of ingredients and what they can do.

A) For shine %26amp; smooth texture:

Avocado (crushed or oil)

mayonnaise (the real stuff)

wheat germ oil

coco butter (Do not use if you have oily hair or scalp)

egg yolk (the egg white will make you hair stiff)

plain yogut (must not have any suger in it)

B) For volume and lift

lemon juice (may cause bleaching of colored hair %26amp; light streaks )

grapefruit juice (100 % juice not cocktail or blends - great for an oily scalp or dandruff)

Grape juice (Good for very dark hair or a goth look - a little goes a long way)

Cider Vinigar (great as an after conditing rince especially if you want lift at the roots)

C) other things

Aloe Verra - good for moisture and damage contol BUT make use the stuff you get dosn't have any alcohal in it because that will dry your hair out.

Henna (Neuteral or colored) - This is good to give straight hair texture. It will give it waves but if you hair is thin it might be too heavy for it. The colored kind is nice if you just want to perk up a dull color tone.

Oat meal powder (natural oats whipped in a blender) - This is good if you hair is dry but your scalp is oily. It keeps the conditioning ingredents from settling on your scalp and giving your hair that oily not washed or overconditioned look.

You just have to experiment and find the right combination for you.

My favorite combination for my very long straight hair:

1 cup yogut

2 Tab henna

2 Tab wheat germ oil

Mix and let soak in hair for 5 minutes

Rince the top with 1/2 cup vinigar and 1 Tab lemon juice

Then rince with water.
